CCDU organises two days training programme for Engineer’s of J&K
Communication and Capacity Development Unit Department of PHE, I&FC J&K State has taken up the task of training Engineers at various levels on all the aspects of planning, Design, Execution and also Operation and Maintenance of the water supply and sanitation schemes in a big way. During the current year it is proposed to train 180 Engineers of the PHE Department on the technical, managerial and social aspects of water supply and sanitation schemes through instate training programme, fulfilling the objectives of J&K government for achieving the objective of National Rural Drinking Water Programme.
CCDU in coordination with the Engineering Staff College of India, a National Key Resources Centre organised two days training programme for PHED Engineers on “Principles of Planning Water Supply Schemes, Components of Single and Multi Village Schemes” to enhance the technical knowledge and skills, exposing them to the latest innovations in the design and construction of Single Village as well as Multi Village Schemes.
CCDU has taken special efforts to organize this training. The topic covered in the programme include:
Planning and Design Principles of Single Village Scheme and Multi Village Schemes.
Geospatial applications in Rural Water Supply.
Ground Water based Schemes, yield of source, selection of Pump.
Design Construction aspects of infiltration gallery, intake well, jack well springs etc.
Application of Remote Sensing, GIS and Geophysical techniques for Water Supply Systems.
General layout of Head Works Pumping main, location of values, distribution of system, design and selection of pumps.
Water treatment techniques-sedimentation tanks, filters, slow and rapid filters, disinfection, micro filters, pressure filters.
The programme was interactive in nature and is likely to generate interest, enthusiasm and healthy discussion between faculty and participants of different areas of the State. This will help in upgrading the knowledge enhanancing the skills uplifting the attitude of participants which finally will result in efficient and effective performance of the human resource of the organisation.
The Programme was inaugurated by Sh. H. C. Jerath Chief Engineer I&FC Jammu in presence of Dr. Narinder Bhatial Executive Director CCDU, Sh. J.D. Ojha Director Water Resource Development Division and Sh. M. Rama Mohan Director ESCI Hyderabad.
Others present on the occasion were Sh. G. Naresh. and Smt Y.S. Lakshmi faculty from ESCI, Hyderabad, Sh. Mohinder Manhas Sectary of Institute of Engineering Jammu, Miss Iqra Shafi HRD Consultant, Sh. Shahnawaz Dar IEC Consultant, Sh. Naginder Challu Accounts Officer and other Staff of CCDU.
